WEBSep 14, 2009 · For those who train in the morning, almost immediately after waking, pre- and/or during-training liquid nutrition becomes important. As for post workout, if you properly designed your preworkout nutrition, you do not need a shake immediately after your workout followed up by the brofabulous whole food meal.

WEBApr 21, 2012 · you don't need a post-workout protein shake. just have it any time throughout the day if you don't get enough protein from regular food. but if you take it before working out, i'd wait 20-30 minutes before hitting the gym, since it takes about 20 minuets to digest the whey protein. WEBOct 15, 2010 · Thanks. the purpose of the protein intake post workout is to rebuild the damaged muscle fibers after a vigorous workout. chicken or tuna salad from your example, are sources of protein and omega-3's. also, you would want to include a form of complex carbs post workout. WEBSep 22, 2010 · Take a Protein/Dextrose shake halfway through your workout and either another shake directly afterward or a meal with low GI carbs to combat the "low" spike of the high GI dextrose. Dextrose spikes insulin, and insulin assists the absorption of protein. Pre workout, you should have a low GI meal approximately 1.5 hours before your workout.

WEBDec 14, 2012 · So i was reading Jim Stoppani's 12 week program and saw that he recommended a shake before and after a workout. Currently i just do after, and just take a preworkout with some creatine before. If i did take one before i would have to do 2 separate shakes, i was wondering what everyone else does.
