Mexican Independence Day celebrations kick off Saturday in downtown Chicago for the first time in more than a decade. The fest continues Sunday at Butler Field in Grant Park.

Hundreds of revelers are expected to pack downtown and the Little Village neighborhood on the city's Southwest Side again Sunday, as Mexican Independence Day celebrations continue. Sunday's celebrations come a day after Chicago's Office Emergency Management (OEMC) implemented rolling street closures and restricted access to downtown Saturday night in response to the crowds.
