Hollywood actresses took turns reading previously unpublished letters penned by the late Eve Babitz to others, including Joan Didion.

The exclusive event included a reading of Babitz’s unsent letters by those A-list actors and the book’s author herself, Lili Anolik.

An event at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont celebrated an upcoming book about Eve Babitz and Joan Didion, two writers who documented the magic of California.

Roberts founded the online reading community/book club Belletrist, which picked “Didion and Babitz” as its November read. For the literary event celebrating the new book, the known bibliophile wore a playfully sophisticated outfit consisting of a sleek gray ankle-length skirt and a matching triangle bralette over a white short sleeve top.
