The iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF and Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF were each rising 0.4% in afternoon trading, according to FactSet data, at last check. Both funds are up so far in September, with each posting a total return of 0.8% on Wednesday afternoon.

Stock futures are falling in early trading Wednesday with the economy and tumbling AI stock prices serving up a twin threat to markets.
