Sony Interactive Entertainment is closing two of its studios, CEO Hermen Hulst said, Concord maker Firewalk and the mobile game developer Neon Koi. The news comes two years after Sony acquired Neon Koi – named Savage Game Studios at the time – to help expand its efforts in the live-service space and 18 months after Sony purchased Firewalk.

The writing was on the wall, and PlayStation finally did what everyone knew was coming and closed Firewalk Studios.

Sony will be shutting down Firewalk Studios, makers of Concord, after the game failed to to find an audience in the crowded live service space.

CEO, Hermen Hulst, announced in a press release on Tuesday. The team was responsible for Concord, the company’s sci-fi hero shooter that bombed so badly it was taken offline just weeks after its launch earlier this year.

Sony has made the decision to shut down Firewalk Studios, the developer behind Concord. The company will also close Neon Koi, which it acquired in 2022. Hermen Hulst, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, confirmed the closure of Firewalk Studios in an internal email that was published online.

Sony has officially killed off Concord and is shuttering the studio behind the game. Concord's servers were taken down just two weeks after the launch of the competitive team shooter from Firewalk Studios after poor sales.
