Jared McCain had another stellar outing for the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets. In the absence of the All-Stars Joel Embiid and Paul George, the Sixers needed a group of guys to step up and fill the void of the star power lost to the injury report.

Jared McCain has emerged as a bright spot amidst a struggling start for the Philadelphia 76ers. Entering Friday’s slate, where the 76ers will take on the Nets at Wells Fargo Center ( 7 ET, League Pass ), McCain is expected to remain the starting shooting guard alongside Tyrese Maxey in the backcourt.

Despite being without Joel Embiid, who is dealing with swelling in his left knee, the 76ers managed to end a five-game losing streak against the Nets behind another outstanding performance from self-proclaimed "rookie of the year" Jared McCain.

Although other rookies like L.A.'s Dalton Knecht, Memphis' Jaylen Wells and Atlanta's Zaccharie Risacher have impressed, McCain is the clear leader in the clubhouse for the Rookie of the Year award at this early stage.

Jared McCain scored 30 points and Tyrese Maxey added 26 as the Philadelphia 76ers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 113-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets in an NBA Cup game.
