Kyle Palmieri scored twice, Brock Nelson had a goal and two assists and the New York Islanders beat the St. Louis Blues 3-1 to end a three-game skid.

Palmieri gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead at 18:51 of the first period. Nelson picked off a Pierre-Olivier Joseph pass at the red line, skated into the offensive zone on a 3-on-2 rush and fed Palmieri, who beat Binnington with a wrist shot between the circles.

ELMONT, NY -- The New York Islanders returned home to UBS Arena Saturday, and Kyle Palmieri made sure it would be a happy homecoming scoring twice, including a late empty netter, giving the home team a much needed 3-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.

- The Bruins inked Elias Lindholm to a seven-year deal in the offseason. The centerman has 10 points (3G, 7A) in his first 22 games as a Bruin. Nikita Zadorov also came over from the Canucks, signing a six-year deal with the Bruins. The 29-year-old defenseman has five assists through 23 games this season.

Both teams find themselves outside of the playoff picture ahead on tonight's game at UBS Arena on Thanksgiving eve.
