Beverly Hills officials delayed permit approvals and pressured the landlord to prevent an abortion clinic from opening in the city last year, violating state constitutional protections for reproductive rights,

The city of Beverly Hills will have to start training employees on abortion protections under a judgment issued Thursday by state Attorney General Rob Bonta, who accused city officials of violating state law by blocking the opening of an abortion clinic.

The city attorney admitted he wouldn't have held up the clinic's permits if it had provided plastic surgery rather than reproductive health services.
