Surveillance video exclusively obtained by CBS News New York Investigates shows NYPD officers repeatedly punching a man working at a Brooklyn homeless shelter last February.

A woman was pushed onto the subway tracks at the Jefferson Street station in Brooklyn Thursday morning, police said. The 62-year-old woman was pushed off of the L train platform a little before 6 a.m.

Police officials shared more details about the Brownsville, Brooklyn subway station shooting during a Wednesday evening news conference. They said the violence, captured on body-worn cameras and 15 surveillance cameras at the station and on the trains, began when a man accused of fare evasion later charged at police with a knife.

Community leaders in Brooklyn are calling on the NYPD to suspend the officers who shot at a suspect on a subway train Sunday.

The family of a Brooklyn hospital worker who was left in critical condition after police opened fire and struck him in the head at a subway station is calling for an investigation of the shooting.

NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said the two officers involved in the shooting had two separate encounters, just 10 minutes apart, at the train station on Sunday.
