OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WFSB) - Old Saybrook police are investigating a stabbing Friday afternoon. Police say the stabbing took place in the area of Stop and Shop on Boston Post Road. The victim is stable and a suspect has been taken into custody without incident. Police believe this was an isolated incident.

Old Saybrook police said that they’ve found a suspect involved in a stabbing near Stop and Shop Friday. Police said the victim is in stable condition. They believe it was an isolated incident. The Stop & Shop is located at 665 Boston Post Rd.

Police arrested Quintin Petty, 62, of Deep River in connection with the stabbing at 2:51 p.m. on North Main Street, Spera said, charging him with first-degree assault and breach of peace. Spera said that while police still were investigating, they did not believe the stabbing was a random act.
