Star Wars Outlaws is an offline single-player game that came out over two months ago, but Ubisoft is increasingly treating it like a post-launch live service game with continual updates and, now, a new director.

In addition to thanking fans for their positive reactions, the developer underlined that the team was closely monitoring player feedback and preparing for major changes. As Rechner specified, SW: Outlaws will see improvements primarily in combat, stealth, and controls.

Page 3 of Ubisoft’s earnings report has a blurb about Star Wars Outlaws and the studio’s plan moving forward. After admitting the game “underperformed sales expectations,” Ubisoft says the developer is “fully mobilized on implementing changes to enhance game mechanics and overall polish.”

The announcement was unceremoniously shared on X, with a dev update introducing Rechner, who "has recently taken the helm of Star Wars Outlaws as creative director." The new Imperial commander said the studio has been gathering data since launch and will focus on implementing feedback and continuing to grind down those lingering rough edges.
