The city of Beverly Hills has settled an investigation after a battle over an abortion clinic, requiring it to train officials on abortion clinic protections, California Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta announced Thursday.

Despite the city’s denial of wrongdoing, state Attorney General Rob Bonta said Beverly Hills officials actively interfered with the planned opening of a late-term abortion clinic, leading to a cancellation of the facility’s lease.

The city of Beverly Hills will have to start training employees on abortion protections under a judgment issued Thursday by state Attorney General Rob Bonta, who accused city officials of violating state law by blocking the opening of an abortion clinic.

The city attorney admitted he wouldn't have held up the clinic's permits if it had provided plastic surgery rather than reproductive health services.
