The NBA has postponed Thursday's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets at Crypto Arena due to uncontrolled wildfires in the area, the league announced.

The Lakers are scheduled to face the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. PT on Thursday in Los Angeles, so it will be worth monitoring to see what happens. The Lakers are also set to host the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday and Monday, so there could be some rescheduling depending on how things develop.

With the wildfires raging on in the Los Angeles area, the NBA has decided to postpone the Lakers game against the Hornets.

The Hornets-Lakers game was postponed because of the wildfires in the L.A. area that have claimed over 5,000 structures, including the home of Lakers coach JJ Redick.

It is the second straight day a game slated to be played in downtown Los Angeles has been postponed. The NHL’s Los Angeles Kings were scheduled to host Calgary on Wednesday night.
