Apple has decided it will avoid the issue by refusing to allow its generative AI software to be installed on a purchased iPhone. It’s a drastic choice that will be seen as a downgrade by Apple’s dedicated community and leave European iPhones at a disadvantage compared to the Android-based competition.

Many preorder deals are being offered in conjunction with the iPhone 16 Plus. AT&T is offering up to $830 off with an eligible trade-in and when you activate the phone with a qualifying service plan. You can also finance the phone for as little as $25.84 per month for 36 months.

Better yet, they're up for preorder as of Friday, Sept. 13, and will become available on Sept. 20. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199, keeping in line with the pricing from the iPhone 15 Pro line.

Samsung will pay $600 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, whereas Apple is offering $650. Clearly a competitive move by a company that rarely engages in aggressive pricing tactics. There are also some interesting prices for older devices here, including $400 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max and $500 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
