A 17-year-old boy died in the hospital around 2 A.M. Tuesday, nine days after a double shooting in a parking lot at Pleasure Ridge Park High School. Gunfire also hit a second victim in the Sept. 29 shooting outside the PRP high school football game.

A juvenile who was injured in a shooting during a high school football game in Louisville died in the hospital early Tuesday morning, nine days after the shooting occurred. The shooting happened during a makeup game between PRP and Male High School on Sunday,

Louisville Metro Police spokesman John Bradley said in a statement that the victim that died early Tuesday was a juvenile male that was in critical condition at UofL Health Hospital downtown since the night of the shooting. He died at 2:14 a.m.

At least one person has been arrested on gun charges the night a shooting broke out at a high school football game.

Eugene Tingle has lived near PRP High School for more than 40 years. He said he hears every football game held there from the announcers to every play. Sunday night, he heard something different. “I hear automatic gunfire close,” Tingle said. “The shooting had stopped, and I’m thinking I’m going to see someone right here in the intersection shot,”

Fern Creek High School will make some changes for football games starting Friday aimed at keeping everyone safe.

Shots were fired in the parking lot during the Pleasure Ridge Park and Male high school football game Sunday night.
