Though El Paso voted largely Democrat, the mood of people KFOX14/CBS4 spoke to was mixed as Donald Trump will become the 47th president of the United States.

Republicans made deep inroads among Hispanic voters Tuesday, including in El Paso, where they had their best results in decades – though fell short of winning any races. Donald Trump became the first Republican presidential candidate to win more than 40% of the El Paso County vote since George W.

Election results: 7 p.m. - Early voting; 9 p.m. - Election Day results in 45-min intervals; final results TBD once all precincts are counted.

The Borderland is seeing a new trend in the mayoral campaign this year: out-of-town political action committees, or PACs, are investing resources to support and attack candidates.  As ABC-7 has reported,

In El Paso County, Tuesday's general election was easy for dozens of unopposed candidates in races ranging from state senator to local judgeship to the Faben school board.

Texans will vote for president, U.S. senator, all 38 U.S. representatives, and several key state and local offices.
