A lightning strike at Coto Coto Stadium in Peru during a soccer match killed one player and injured several others.

TMZ reports that in the midst of a soccer match on Sunday (Nov. 3) between the Juventud Bellavista and Familia Chocca at Coto Coto stadium in the Peruvian city of Huancayo, Jose Hugo de la Cruz Meza was struck by lightning and killed immediately.

According to The Post, 39-year-old defender Jose Huge de la Cruz Meza was killed after suffering a direct strike. The publication reported that 40-year-old Goalkeeper Juan Chocca Llaccta also suffered a direct strike and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for severe burns.
