The Red Flag Warning in effect for Long Island and much of downstate New York was lifted Thursday but the National Weather Service said mild, dry weather is in the immediate forecast and the threat of brush fires remains.

The National Weather Service issued another red flag warning for Connecticut Saturday as gusty winds and low humidity trigger an increased risk of brush fires.

Massachusetts is under a red flag warning again on Tuesday as dozens of brush fires​ continue burning across the state.

Anyone who notices flames, smoke or other signs of a brush fire is urged to call it in immediately so firefighters can investigate and contain it as quickly as possible.

A Red Flag Warning remains in place Tuesday as brush fires continue to smolder across Massachusetts. Firefighters are on high alert and at the ready to respond to any flare-ups as windy, bone-dry conditions persist.
